A very rare table designed with the oval top for a house in Emilia Romagna by Angelo Mangiarotti.
This piece embodies both technical ambition and poetic restraint.
The marble top appears to be Botticino marble, characterized by its warm ivory-beige ground with soft, linear brown veining.
The base—shaped as a slow, elegant trumpet—was cast at the historic Battaglia Artistic Foundry in Milan, a workshop traditionally associated with ecclesiastical commissions and public statuary. Established in 1913, it is among the oldest artistic bronze foundries in the world.
According to Domus, it was the only known table to be cast entirely in bronze.
